Inkkas!

Happy Monday, everybody! I want to start the week out right with a feature about an uplifting company. Do you all remember my July wish list I posted just a few days ago? I had a pair of Inkkas on that list and included a link to their website but I still want to talk about them a little bit more. Why? Because they are a pretty amazing company.

They are a brand spanking new company (just went live in 2012) but they are doing some amazing things with the exposure they have already gotten so quickly. Besides making fantastically creative sneaks, they are fair trade and donate a portion of their profits to Amazon Watch, a non-profit that is doing all it can to protect the Amazon Rainforest and the people and creatures that live there. Oh, and you know Inkkas' motto? Don't just buy a product, buy a small piece of a better world. I don't know about you, but I can definitely get behind a company like that!

Now, about those sneaks! First of all, those textiles they use are all hand-woven by Peruvian artisans and then the shoes are hand-made in South America. You can see pictures to their fascinating process here. On their website they are currently selling 14 different patterns in both high-top and low riding styles all for $75, plus kid styles for $55. But you aren't a big fan of loud, hot pink patterns? That's ok! They also have some awesome muted patterns to suit every style. I can't wait to get my hands on a pair!

Want to take a gander? Here's their website. Hop on over to their pinterest and read through their awesome blog. Maybe you just want to help out the environment? Head on over to Amazon Watch and get involved or make a donation. And, as always, like them on FBook.

What Inkkas shoe are you all digging' the most? Do you all know any other great little-companies-that-could that you love?
